Order 2018-2019 Your Presbyterian Planning Calendar before May 25

If you have not already ordered your 2018-19 Presbyterian Planning Calendars, you may join in on a bulk order with your friends in the Presbytery of East Tennessee.

The 2018-2019 Presbyterian Planning Calendar is wire-bound 8½" x 11" calendar, punched to fit standard binders, offers numerous useful features that keep you in touch with the church and its ongoing life and work.

Regular per calendar price is $14.95 plus shipping - we are able to get a bulk order price of $9.25 per calendar, including shippingCalendars will be delivered to two locations: Rivermont Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga and Second Presbyterian Church in Knoxville. You will be notified when the calendars are in and ready to be picked up.

Peacemaking Committee Brings Speaker on Racism May 26-27

From the Peacemaking Committee of the Presbytery of East Tennessee: The Reverend Dr. David Billings is a United Methodist Minister and author of the 2016 book  Deep Denial: The Persistence of White Supremacy in United States History and Life . He has been an anti-racist trainer and organizer with the People's Institute for Survival and Beyond since 1983 and has worked with anti-racist groups across the country. Born in McComb, Mississippi, he grew up in Helena, Arkansas, and now resides back in McComb. He holds degrees from the University of Mississippi, New York Theological Seminary, and Wisdom University. Mediation Training Seminar Available

Dear Colleagues North Alabama Presbytery and the Presbytery of Sheppards and Lapsley are delighted to sponsor a week-long mediation training seminar facilitated by Lombard Mennonite Peace Center.  This training institute offers invaluable skills and knowledge to navigate conflict in congregations and Presbyteries, and is useful in a variety of other contexts as well. Through a generous grant from our Synod, we are able to offer this workshop for $575 per person for the first 22 participants from the Synod.  This price includes the conference, all materials, and lodging and meals at Camp Maranatha where the training will be held.  This is a * significant * discount of over 50% – the usual registration fee for the conference alone is $750, and with lodging would be $1200.  There is an informational brochure attached.  Please share this with your ministers, congregations, and committees, highlighting the special scholarship rate.  If you have questions, please do not hesitate
